Jones Equity Partners and its principals have invested in a variety of companies, across many industries, with a variety of transaction structures encompassing everything from minority growth equity investments to majority controlled acquisitions.
Throughout the late ‘90’s, Jones Equity Partners invested in several founder liquidity transactions: Software.com (IPO 99), and Transoft Networks (acquired Hewlett Packard 99). In 2002, Jones Equity Partners made its largest investment to date, the MBO of Aspect International Language Academies from its former owner, Warburg Pincus. After two years of patiently waiting, JEP made two proprietary investments in late 04, transactions using only JEP capital. Ascendim, Inc., a search engine optimization firm, which is well positioned to capitalize on the growing importance of organic search, and Cinema Circle Corp., parent of Spiritual Cinema Circle, it’s flagship product offering. SCC is a world leader in Spiritual Cinema licensing and distribution. Given it’s recurring revenue model and significant barrier to entry, this looks to be JEP’s most successful holding.
